How It Works

2. Message MyNeighborMD to Request An Appointment

Using the secure messaging feature on Spruce, message me with what issue I can help with. If appropriate for my services, I will message you with required forms (for new patients) and to schedule either a telehealth or home visit depending on your preference and appropriateness of the concern.

3. Receive Care At Home or Via Spruce Telehealth

Your visit is paid at the time scheduling with clear, upfront pricing. If medication is needed I will prescribe it to which ever pharmacy you want. While we do not bill insurance on your behalf for visits, your medication may be covered by your insurance.

About MyNeighborMD

I’m Alex Iteen, MD, a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician living here in the San Marcos. After years of working in ERs and Urgent Cares, I noticed the same thing over and over, patients coming in with minor issues that didn’t really need an emergency or urgent care visit. What they needed was quick, reliable help so things didn’t turn into a long night in the waiting room.

That’s what led me to create this acute care micro-practice.

I wanted to bring back a simple idea, a neighborhood doctor you can reach when something comes up, who can either talk you through it or stop by your home if you need a hands-on assessment. By being a self-pay model and staying outside the insurance-driven system, I’m able to keep things straightforward, spend more time with patients, and offer care that’s actually convenient.

I currently only see patients in and around the Santa Fe Hills area of San Marcos for home visits. Telehealth visits can be scheduled for any patients currently in California.
