MyNeighborMD Policies
Scope of Practice & Limitations of Services
MyNeighborMD (a clinical service of Alexander Iteen, MD Professional Services Corp) provides limited, acute medical care services via home-visit & telehealth format. This service is not a replacement for emergency or primary/longitudinal care.
Services may include:

Minor illness such as upper respiratory infections, flu-like symptoms, sore throat, rashes, minor injuries

Wound care such as staple & suture removal

Limited point-of-care testing such as rapid influenza, COVID-19, and streptococcal testing
-
Short-term medical refills (please see separate medical refill policy)
MyNeighborMD is not a replacement or substitute for:
-
A primary care physician
-
Urgent or emergent care
-
Specialty care
-
Pre-hospital care
-
Longitudinal care
Services are meant for episodic, limited, acute, and minor medical concerns that can be safely handled with a home visit or via telehealth.
Patients utilizing MyNeighborMD and Dr. Iteen’s services are expected to maintain their own primary care. Use of MyNeighborMD services does not establish an ongoing primary care relationship.
Medication Refills & Controlled Substances Policy
MyNeighborMD (a clinical service of Alexander Iteen MD Professional Services Corp) maintains the policy that any requested medication refills will be done on a case by case basis.
Refills may only be requested if the medication is:

A long term, stable prescriptions treating a chronic disease

Originally prescribed by the patient’s primary care doctor

The patient is unable to get a refill request by the original prescriber

The patient has an established primary care provider to follow up with

The medication is not a controlled substance

Prescription can be verified visually by Dr. Iteen
Refills, if provided, will only be for a maximum of 30 days to allow time to follow up with the patient’s primary care provider.
Dr. Iteen does not assume long-term management of chronic diseases and reserves the right to decline medication refill requests.
Patients are solely responsible for the prescription information provided to Dr. Iteen and for ensuring continuity of care with their primary care provider or establishing a primary care provider.
Controlled Substances Policy
Under no circumstances will Dr. Iteen prescribe any controlled substances for patients utilizing MyNeighborMD’s services.
This includes but is not limited to:

Opiate or opiate like medications
-
Benzodiazepines
-
Stimulants (such as those for ADHD)
-
Testosterone/Anabolic Steroids
-
Sedative Hypnotics
-
MAT
Any and all requests for controlled substances will be declined and any repeated requests will bar future utilization of MyNeighborMD’s services.
Patient’s requiring controlled medications must seek care from their primary care provider or appropriate specialist.
